About Domain Investor’s Edge

How does Domain Investor’s Edge work?

All domains on this list have already expired or been canceled. They’ve also emerged from the legally required “grace” period. So the date you see is the actual date the name will be available for purchase (domain registration).

Although lengthy (95,000+ names!) your Investor’s Edge subscription makes the list easy to manage. You can search by TLD (.COM, .INFO, .NET, .ME, .ORG, .BIZ, .MOBI, .US, or .CO) or wild card/keyword. You can also filter the list, based on the length of the domain name and whether or not it contains dashes and/or numbers. Select the names you want to capture directly from the list, and once you’ve selected that name, no one else may do so.

You have until noon ET each day to submit the names you want to capture. There is no daily limit to the number of names you may submit (subject to change).

Submissions cost $11.95 each.

This fee is non-refundable, but if you secure the name, it includes the cost* to register domain for one year.

We email the results of each day’s submissions by 4:00 PM ET.

* Plus ICANN fee of $0.18/yr.

About Your Domain Backorder

Does Domain Backorders guarantee domain name registration?

No. The Domain Backorder service does not guarantee you will acquire a domain. When you place a domain backorder, we attempt to acquire the domain for you when it becomes available for domain registration.

Each domain backorder comes with Domain Monitoring, a useful service that lets you track the domain. It keeps you in the loop on that domain’s expiration date and any changes to its status.

If a backordered domain becomes available, but our service fails to acquire it, you can reassign the backorder to another domain or request a refund from our support team. If we are not able to acquire your domain, we notify you by email.

You can change your Domain Backorder service to a different domain name as long as the backorder remains active. Domain Backorder remains active until they capture a domain or you manually cancel them.

Domain Registration – Setting up Domain Backorders

If you want to capture a domain name that someone else currently has registered, you can place a backorder. Domain Backorders attempts to register the domain name if it becomes available. Or, if the domain name is listed for auction, Domain Backorders gives you instructions on how to participate.

When you purchase a backorder, you can set it as public or private. Private backorders protect your personal information by not listing it in the Whois database.

If the backorder is not successful, you can reassign it to another domain name or request a refund from our support team.

For more information about the backorder process, see What are Domain Backorders?

Certain country-code top-level domain names (ccTLDs), such as .us, have residency requirements. If you want to backorder a ccTLD, see About ccTLDs (Country-Code Domain Names) to find the Help article with its residency requirements.

Domain Registration – What are Domain Backorders?

Domain Backorders is a service that helps you attempt to acquire a domain name when it becomes available for registration. It includes a Domain Monitoring membership and one year of domain name registration.

Placing a backorder does not guarantee that you will acquire the domain name. The current registrant might renew the domain name, or we might be unsuccessful in our attempt to register it for you.

This process is in place to provide each of our customers an equal opportunity to acquire domain names.

The Backorder Process

  1. You backorder a domain name — You can attempt to purchase a backorder for a domain name before it expires. Only one customer may place a backorder on a domain name. For instructions on placing a backorder, see Setting up Domain Backorders.
  2. You monitor the domain name — With your free Domain Monitoring membership, you can monitor your backordered domain name and receive email notifications within 24 hours of any changes in registrar, status, expiration date, or nameservers.
  3. We attempt to capture the domain name — We attempt to register the domain name before the release time, and we continue to make attempts until we or another registrar captures it.
    • If we capture the domain name — We award the domain name to you. We process a change of registrant and move the domain name into your account within 45 days. Your domain name is registered with us for one year from the time it enters your account.
    • If we don’t capture the domain name — We email you that the backorder was unsuccessful. You can request a refund from our support department or apply your backorder credit to another domain name. There is no time limit for backorder reassignment, and the product does not expire.

Domain Registration – Certified Domains: Authorization and Validation Process

During the domain name validation process, we verify the email address used when the domain is registered with us. The process also includes fraud screening and telephone verification. If you follow the proper procedures, we can generally process a Certified Domain name request within minutes of submission. Failure to complete a step will prevent the process from moving on to the next step and all procedures must be completed to certify the domain name.

If you have private registration on your domain’s contact information, you can still complete the verification process. You can access your private registration information through the Domain Manager in your account. If you need assistance, please call, send an email or initiate a chat with our customer support center.

We offer full list of top level domains and Country Code Top Level Domains with cheap domainssales.

Generating Verification Emails

When a domain name is submitted for certification, domain name authorization email messages are sent to each unique email address listed for the domain name’s registrant, administrative and technical contacts. Each of these emails must be validated. If only one email address is used for all domain name contacts, only one email is generated. You can re-send any or all of the verification emails at any time until the email verification is complete.

If the domain name’s registration information is not available (for example, certification was requested for a domain name that is being transferred to us but not yet active in one of our accounts, or certification was requested for a backordered domain name that is not currently registered through us) this verification step will remain open until the registration information becomes available. At that time, verification emails will be sent to the domain name’s contacts.

Verifying the Domain Name’s Contacts

The domain name contacts — the domain name’s registrant, administrative and technical contacts — verify receipt of the Certified Domain name email. Once all email addresses are validated, the request proceeds to the next step. The process will not continue until each unique email address has been validated.

If you are having problems receiving the verification emails, please be certain you’re using the same email used when the domain was registered. You may also want to check your spam or bulk folders to ensure the email is not being redirected.

Fraud Screening

The Certified Domain name screens the domain name for a number of possible fraud indicators. If initial screening indicates possible fraud, a more meticulous fraud review is applied to the domain. If your domain is identified as needing further review, the verification process can be delayed by up to 48 hours. If, during secondary screening, we determine there is sufficient reason to suspect fraud, we reject the Certified Domain name request. If we don’t detect any problems, we clear the domain name and the Certified Domain name authorization and validation process proceeds.

If your domain is denied due to fraud, call our support line, send an email or send a chat notification to one of our agents for assistance. We can help identify the problem and get you on your way again.

Telephone Verification

Phone verification is required for all Certified Domain name holders to complete their authorization and validation process. At your request, we send an SMS (text message) with a PIN to the phone number you provide. You must enter this PIN correctly in order for us to complete the validation process and issue the Domain Origination Certified Seal.

You are limited to attempting telephone verification three (3) times per day and a total of nine (9) attempts per domain.

Issuing the Certification

When the authorization and validation process is complete, the Domain Origination Certified seal is issued. In addition, a computer-generated Domain Origination Certified Seal is added to the Whois listing for the domain name in question.
